A Visit to 5000 yr old Hanuman Temple
It was a short trip that we had planned to go to Goravanahalli Mahalaxmi Temple few months back, but as we finished our darshan soon, we had lot of time, so we decided to visit another temple nearby to this temple. It was in a village called Kyathenahalli, 4 kms drive from entrance of Goravanahalli Mahalaxmi temple. The road is very bad but I didn’t find it stressful as my brother drove quite well and we reached this Anjaneya temple in Kyathenahalli. It is a very huge campus surrounded by lot of trees and it is a 5000 yrs old temple.
Once inside the temple, we saw this huge Anjaneya’s stone statue in garbha gruha. The specialty of this temple is, as told by the temple priest, that Lord Anjaneya faces directly opposite to Devarayana Durga’s Laxmi Narasimha Swamy. He also told us that it was built by Janamejaya at the beginning of Kaliyuga.
Next time, if you are planning to visit Laxmi Temple, then I would suggest try visiting this Anjaneya temple also! Here is a glimpse of the lord Hanuman of this temple for you.
